EducateWright

The nonprofit, named by its work.

EducateWright is our nonprofit. It does anti-violence outreach, education, and the long work of teaching people to teach again. You find it one layer down, behind a single line in how we are paid, which is exactly where we think it belongs.

Software does not end violence. We fund the humans who do that work.

We will not claim a tool fixed something a person fixed. What we can do is move money toward the people already doing the patient, local, human work, and keep the books open enough that you can check it.

Discovered, not advertised

We did not put this on the front of the building.

EducateWright is not a banner or a campaign. It is the quiet end of an accounting decision: a fixed amount, set aside on every funded engagement, sent outward instead of kept. You can read the whole mechanism in plain numbers, and then you can read what it pays for here.

How it is funded

Funded by the $200 nobody claimed.

Every funded engagement sends $200 outward. If someone introduced the client to a free intake and that client signs, the $200 is theirs, flat. When no one made that introduction, the same $200 is directed to EducateWright. There is no version of the deal where it stays with us.

$200

When someone referred them

The introduction had value, so the value goes to the person who made it. Flat, every time, no tiers and no bundles.
$200

When no one did

The same amount goes to EducateWright. The money was always going to leave us. This is simply where it lands when there is no referrer.

This is an accounting choice, not a slogan. What is manufactured can be dismantled, and a margin that quietly accumulates upward is one of those manufactured things. We chose to send it down and out.

What the work is

Three kinds of patient work.

None of it is fast and none of it is flashy. It is people, in their own communities, doing the unglamorous things that lower the temperature and raise the floor.

Outreach

People show up in the places where things get tense before they get worse. Steady presence, real relationships, the slow work of being known and trusted.

Education

Programs that meet learners where they are and give them somewhere to stand. Plain teaching, patient hours, the kind that does not make headlines.

Teach people to teach again

The multiplier. We help educators and mentors carry what they know to the next person, so a single skill becomes a chain of them.

What we do not claim

We will not borrow credit we did not earn.

We do not claim a line of code made a neighborhood safer. We do not claim our company ended anything. The work belongs to the educators, mentors, and outreach workers who show up. Our role is narrow and honest: we fund them, and we keep the receipt where you can see it.

The honest version

Begin an engagement, and the value moves outward.

Every funded month carries someone with it: a referrer, a maker, or this work. That is the design, and you can check it.
